Your consultation checklist
Your goals and alternatives
Explain what you would like to change and any previous treatment. Ask the clinician whether treatment is appropriate, what alternatives exist, including no treatment, and what the limitations are.
Your individual assessment
Share your medical history, medicines and allergies with the treating clinician through the agreed private channel. A photograph or online conversation does not replace the clinical examination needed to confirm a plan.
A clear written proposal
Confirm the proposed procedure, who will provide it, where it will take place, costs and any exclusions. Ask which appointments and follow-up arrangements are included before booking travel.
Before you return home
Ask for written care instructions, a follow-up schedule and a contact for concerns. Discuss what to do if you need an examination after returning home. Travel timing and recovery depend on your individual treatment plan.
These pages help you prepare questions. Suitability and a final treatment plan require an individual clinical assessment.
