Define what you want the consultation to answer
Researching a FUE hair transplant in Istanbul can quickly turn into a comparison of graft numbers. A more useful starting point is a short description of your priorities: your hairline, a particular area of thinning or how you wear your hair. Bring photographs that show what you mean, and ask the clinician to explain which questions still require an in-person assessment.
Suitability starts with understanding the hair loss
Not every type of hair loss is suitable for transplantation. The clinician needs to understand the pattern, how it has changed and whether there may be an underlying condition requiring a different assessment. Sudden or patchy loss should not be treated as an automatic reason to book grafts.
Prepare a short history: when thinning began, previous treatments, scalp symptoms and relevant medicines or health conditions. Ask what the examination needs to establish before surgery can be recommended. A consultation may lead to observation, further investigation or a nonsurgical discussion instead of an immediate procedure.
What does FUE describe?
FUE refers to the removal of individual follicular units from a donor area for transplantation. Ask the clinician to describe the proposed procedure in ordinary language, including extraction and placement. If an offer uses several technique labels, request an explanation of what each label means within your actual plan. A collection of technical names is not a substitute for understanding who will do what.
